How Stuck Up

I was reading some stuff at MacSlash (mac news) and they had an article talking about OUR "inferior" attempts to clone OS X. They even linked to this site. There was about 30 posts after that talking about how horrible we are copying people and how we are pathetic. There were a couple people in our defence, but jeez, it IS a complement to mac users (we like their OS) and we dont make fun of them here for buying a "begginers" computer. Im not saying thats true, but we COULD make fun of them.

I dont think Stardock (they linked to) and the aqua apps are bad at all. Some of them are almost perfect replicas and i think they are upset they cant have the skinnability Windows has.

Oh, and they were saying that Apple should send Seice and Decist Letters to use. Go hide behind your logo! Are we using any of their code, NO!

Are blue buttons copyrighted?

Everyone cant be happy, I will admit when i was in the mac world, the users were stuckup, they just think they are so great that they should be able to do what they want, but when someone (say a windows user) mocks their* so they say' ui they go postal. Just dont worry about it, this site has been up for a few years apple hasnt done anything yet and we've been on these techie news sites plenty of time for them to do something.

First of all, a Mac is not a beginners computer. Macs just have that reputation because they are so simple and easy to use. Even a no brainer who doesnt know the first thing about computers can get on the thing and use it. Thats what makes them so amazing. This is something Windows ceases to accomplish. (and has yet to) The point is if anyone says a Mac is a beginner computer you now know how little that person knows about Macs. :D

And about the complainers, just don't listen to them. If they want rant on us, they can. I dont think they are worried about our skinning ability because why would they want to skin their Macs? They have the best os there is, and they of all people would think that, and they would then want to go and skin their system? I dont think so. So, just ignore them. Hey, if they don't want to take it as a compliment to their os thats their problem. ;)

I wasnt saying that Macs WERE for begginers. I was giving an example of a stereotype, even though i feel that you are limited in some of the customization aspects. I mean, the switch ads seem to ONLY talk about Mac's ease of use for begginers, this is the image that is portrayed. I would like them to talk about how for the power user there is something to be had.
