[release] Milk Ichat For Trillian

Here we go:

This is STILL BUGGY...please, not everything is perfect so keep that in mind. It's still under construction.

Simply overwrite the image directory of the ichat skin of your choice with the images in the zip. I've provided matte and shiny versions. That's it...the buttons at the bottom are partially functional...the right buttons are hidden. the layout is identical to Dan's original iChat...again, this is just a skin mod--no xml has been touched on purpose.

Portions are interchangeable as well so if you want to switch one component from one version with another, you can do so just by overwriting images from their respective directories. For example, the online indicator's are easily changed back to that of the original iChat Milk...same with the background. Just take the images from Dan's original skin and overwrite their counterpart in mine. I just decided to skin a little more i guess than the real one. :\ Actually, i didn't even see the real one until AFTER i was finished.

Ahhh, I like I like. It just seems that this skin, and Danimator's, have problems with chat rooms. Maybe its just me!

Yeah, sorry Dav, i wish i could help with any chat issues. This skin mod isn't xml related so any probs you had with Dan's skin will be present with this one since i've only modified visuals.

I wish i could help, i know a few people have been having chat room issues. :\

hey there, just a few requests i have...

1.- it would be nice if the matte buttons had the +, - and x sign when you hover over them, now theyre only changing position slightly, its kinda annoying (it moves like 3 pixels up)

2.-what happened to the conexion icons on the right bottom??? are they hidden in a pop up like in dans trillian pro 2.0 skin??? how do i get them?

I haven't created mouse-overs yet for the matte buttons, but i know right now i've made the buddy list buttons just jump a bit. But as mentioned above, it's still under construction. There was just such demand for it to be released ASAP that i figured i'd let people play with it until i had fixed some issues...there are several.

As for the connection buttons, this is a pure skin modification. i haven't touched any of the coding of this skin, so the buttons are actually still there, just invisible. If you notice, the tooltips still pop up if you hold them over a particular area.

Only modifying the images makes interchanging pieces easy and allows people to easily switch back and forth, reducing complication on both ends. I don't plan on mucking with the xml...i leave that for the professionals. Should this skin be ported to Dan's new iChat AV skin, then that problem will be automatically solved anyway.

Since i hadn't seen the original iChat Milk until after i did this skin, i figure i'll end up re-adding the corner tab grip thing on at least the buddy list and go from there.

For those who haven't seen it before (which essentially included myself), the real Milk looks like this:

Looks like the real Milk skins less individual items overall but i guess it's easier to move backward toward the original now for those who desire it

...if you want to change some of the matte or shiny buttons like the emoticon, bold italic and sort of stuff you can just take Dan's original images for those buttons and overwrite mine.

And actually Idicula, up here, university's probably a few thousand bucks canadian a year...but if you're not an Canadian student they charge you out the ass. If you get canadian citizenship i can you can subvert that.

If no one really has anymore comments or problems with this particular skin, are there any suggestions for another theme that could be ported for iChat Trillian?

I'm still mucking around with this one, but i've also been trying to get my hands on screenshots of other iChat skins. If anyone knows where i can find screenshots of other iChat themes on mac, please let me know, i'd seriously appreciate it.

i would LOVE to work on a Shinobi version. That's one kick-ass theme. Do you know where i could find some original screens of it though on a mac? I mean i made the Milk skin before ever seeing the original so i guess i could do the same here, but it'd be nice to be as accurate as possible.

i wish i knew xml to some degree, i can't seem to fix some of the bugs in mine.

like for the "file, edit, menu" thing on the IRC Channel console, where can you control the color background for that?

EDIT- I've recently been informed that my skin looks like sh## at 1024 x 768 and lower. i made the skin at 1280 x 1024 so i have to advise people to just stick with Dan's Milk skin...mine plainly sucks. My apologies.

His Trill 2 skin will work with Trillian Pro 1 by all accounts anyway so, no worries there (according to all my sources and personal experimentation)

I think you need to update, Look in Danimators skin: "pref.bmp" has one row of buttons, yours have three. I think that is why it looks a little borked right now.

Well, firstly, when i released it, it wasn't finished. Hence my "This is STILL BUGGY...please, not everything is perfect so keep that in mind. It's still under construction." line

And i won't be updating it. Actually, i'm taking the link down soon...i released my version while under construction and before i could churn out another version with any updates to it, Dan already started and finished his own Milk theme for Trillian 2 (which as i said, works perfectly fine with Trillian 1). So just use his, everyone else is and it works fine.

Mine's dead, but thanks for the suggestion.
