Dark themes and their impact on software

I am a big fan of dark coloured VS (e.g. Peppered, NeoGenix are among my favourites), but there is a serious issue at hand. Whenever I have one of these themes enabled, the background colour for MS Word and Excel etc also changes. This makes them unusable as I work on white background and use a lot of colour coding which is not visible on dark background.

Is there a solution for this? I have tried changing the background colour of the VS before applying it but then whenever I restart my PC I have to manually change it again, and this does not always work

Help!

p.s. would appreciate if someone could point me to some more dark themes like the ones noted above that are 'extraordinary'.

you could maybe reshack the visual style. but usually if ya make minor changes to the visual style it should retain the settings after a reboot, are you using any third party software that runs after logon??

encountered similiar probs, but there's a way to change the background in ms office & open office himself -> do it and save it as your favored normal.dot... no need for reshacking sth.
