The problem is this, I want to use safari for windows as my default browser, but when I set it to default, it sets like that to every user in the computer. So, the question is: can I have my default browser different than other accounts?
Users and default settings in WinXP
Hmm... didn't know that was possible. Why you want to use Safari as the default browser? Its buggy as hell on Windows. :slant:
I don't think you can. Windows is an operating system and all user accounts are affected to changes. For example, delete shell32.dll (don't do it). Log on to any account and bam!!! In any account you try to log in, an error will appear and you won't be able to use the desktop. Its pretty much the same thing for browsers too.
I actually deleted shell32.dll and I couldn't log in. I had to reformat.
not the best thing, but it's the only one : http://windowsxp.mvps.org/defaultbrowser.htm
i like the interface of safari, and it may be a bit buggy, but i am having some problems with firefox, and it's very slow.
thanks for the link tekNerd, but i think it wont work, because it seems to not be supported but the application. anyway, thank you
EDIT, oh, you can add new applications.
great it worked
Nice to see there's an app to make a web browser default for each user. I guess the problem is solved thanks to tekNerd.

Ah, beta releases.
But, as far as I know, Safari 3.1 (a real, full release) is actually really good on Windows.

I haven't tired the final release then, I always thought they were still on beta or wasn't ever gonna release a final. I might check it out later but for now Firefox is the choice of browser.
