[preview] Milk Ichat For Trillian

Since no one seemed interested in the BBX skin I had made, I started on the Milk iChat skin and got a lot of response from people who were interested.

I checked with Danimator (since I'm using his skin as a template from which to work) and he said it was alright to distribute skin mods of his iChat for Trillian. I've yet to hear back from guys like Little Tiger and MorgaN yet, but I'm hoping they'll give word soon so I can put up a download link.

There are still a few items to be fixed, but nothing too major I don't think. The beauty of this mod is that I tried to stay away from editing ANY code what-so-ever...as a matter of fact, I didn't edit any of it. I did this by choice as to not screw anything up for myself or anyone else. I'm not even entirely sure what I'd be doing with the xml portion anyway.

Therefore, this skin can be interchanged with any existing version of the iCHat skin just by exchanging the "image" files from each installation. If you don't like it, just take the image directory from the original and overwrite this one and it should return to its original state.

So while I'm waiting for the remaining permission from the other artists who worked on the original skin with Dan, I wanted to check if there were any particular requests for iChat skin types that anyone wanted to see made. I had already been considering a Panther Pro version, but perhaps you all have a better idea.

This skin is a GREAT idea, and it looks spectacular. I've been looking for a good milk skin for Trillian. The ones I have seen look too... rushed or something. Please keep up the great work.

Shinobi would be COOL...i can just imagine a funky design involving that. I'll have to keep it in mind.

Thanks for the suggestion Seph...actually between the shiny and matte versions, all items are interchangeable so you could actually make the milk skin look the way you wanted based on the available art in both versions just by overwriting images from one skin and putting them in the other. I know people have different tastes when it comes to Milk as a theme because some people prefer no shine and some people like the shine while others prefer a mixture.

The release itself will just be a zipped image file that you use to overwrite the image file of any one of Dan's installed iChat skins (so make a copy of his skin directory so you don't overwrite his cool skin). No xml was touched...i tried my hardest to stay within the numerical boundaries of the original skin as to keep things simple. Besides, if i started messing with xml myself, i'd probably blow something up.

I'm still waiting on MorgaN and Little Tiger to hopefully get back to me soon i so can get an initial release out. It's not perfect, but it'd help me fix some things to get it out to folks. I'm working on fixing scrollbars right now.
