An .smi file won't mount (using Tiger)

This is my first post, so please forgive any overlooked etiquette.

I have just downloaded a copy of Mac System 7 from download.info.apple.com/Apple_Support_Area/Apple_Software_Updates/English-North_American/Macintosh/System/Older_System/System_7.5_Version_7.5.3/, and I can't seem to mount the disk image of the .smi file, I keep getting an error message saying that it is not recognized. It has been divided into 19 parts and compressed into something called .bin, which I have expanded with Stuffit 12. The included instruction say to double-click the first one, but I just keep getting the error message.

I am using OS X Tiger 10.4.11 on a White Intel MacBook, and intend to use System 7 for emulation in BasiliskII 2.

Any help would be greatly appreciated, including where I am going wrong with this .

Hi and wlcome to the forums.

Have you tried to navigate to the file and then expand or drag and drop the file? Or maybe the download is corrupt...just some thoughts.

You might try Disk copy to mount the .smi file. Your first post doesn't say whether you tried that or not, but thats my only suggestion left. I hope you get it to work.
