Evidence has come up showing a future version of the iPhone may not be based on Samsung ARM processors, but on Intel chips instead. An Intel slide presentation at last week's CeBIT Expo in Germany classified the iPhone as a next-generation mobile Internet device, or MID, utilizing Intel's Moorestown technology.

The Intel iPhone could be available in 2009 at the earliest, meaning Apple will likely have already added 3G functionality by release time.
