System won't retain my settings! ):(

Fairly new here but have been lurking for the least week or so, anyway: I've installed MacClock and MacSearch onto Windows XP along with FAK and several other background apps yet when I go into the taskbar settings and change them so as to hide my regular System Clock and certain Systray Icons, the settings have erased themselves, and it's back to the way it was! I've searched around the forums (And OSX-E) and have found very little useful info., it seems this is not a widespread problem, so, what am I doing wrong?
