Hey guys,

OK so last week my friend staying in Houston, TX told me that he is returning back to kuwait just for a short visit. So I thought that since i am saving for a MacBook Pro, why not ask him instead to bring it here to Kuwait for me.

I gave him three options to pay;

1. Either I can pay here and get it shipped to his place in TX.

2. Can give the cash to his parents here.

3. Transfer the amount from my bank to his.

While he said that the second option cannot be accepted by him, so i asked him weather he was fine with the first option and so he was.

The problem is that when i was on BestBuy I saw 2 MBPs that really caught my attention.

This is the first one, and this is the second one.

Now i have a dilemma with which one to buy. Ofcourse the thing is that there is a small problem with the cash to. The problem is that currently i have ~KD 365 (~ $1,345).

My friend is leaving from US on May 31. So roughly i have three months to collect money. Should I fall short for cash, is the second choice worth it?

Would greatly appreciate your response!

Regards

It looks as though the only real difference is the amount of Ram on the graphicscard (128 vs. 256), and the amount of storage on the harddrive (120 vs. 160). From a general point of view, I would say that the latter has specs that will match all everyday use. The 2.2 to 2.4 GHz difference in the processors won't be really noticeabel IMHO. The second one is a very good buy, but if $200 is all that separates you between being a happy man and a VERY HAPPY man, I'd say go for the first one :-)

By the way...how about warranties and such? In case of a faulty machine, will you have to send it back to bestbuy in the states or can you put it in any Macshop anywhere in the world for repairs?

Regards,

Dodgers.

They have a bestbuy store here. and a shop called iCity here. I think the warranty works here too.
