I want dock thats always on bottom

I don't like it when docks are always on top or auto-minimized, it just not very handy for what I do. What I want is a dock thats always on the bottom, even if I hit the 'show desktop' button on my quick launch menu. I want one thats pinned to the desktop.

You may be asking, why not just use regular icons. I dont like how icons move and get disorganized especially if you switch screens/resoultions. I dont like how theres a little shortcut icon on top of the icon you want to use. I also dont like how you cant use PNGs. I like OSX's fisheye effect and the leopard stack looks cool but I dont know if I'd like it because I havent used leopard yet. Doing anything with icons, ie. making a new one or changing the size is a pain in windows and I just wish that such a basic function of a desktop such as desktop icons were more customizeable in windows.

I've used and liked rocketdock and rklauncher but they get minimized when you hit show desktop, which I dont like. Samurize can actually pin stuff to the desktop which is what I want but it's way to confusing for me to use, I have no idea how to create functional icons in it.

Also, I'd use linux, but I can't put it on my work PC.

Hmm, I am using RocketDock and it isn't getting minimized if I hit show desktop

Really? What did you select for the 'Layering' option in the Dock Settings?

I've tried it on two different PCs (XP and Vista) and it minimizes when I hit Show Desktop every time.

Why dont you use Avedesk instead of Samurize to create "icon" shortcuts that behave just like desktop icons but with effects?

Because I didn't know it existed. I tried it out thought and it's pretty close to perfect. Definitely going to use it. Thanks a million Ojalord!

Excellent answer :P.

Update: Avedesk doesn't seem to work properly on my Vista machine. The icons don't show.

Make sure they're set to normal window instead of desktop icon, they should display then.

And also make sure you've got the Avedesk Vista build (not v1.3)

I've tried AveDesk 1.4 and AveDesk 2 beta but they didn't work right away. I'll try again later today.

Yea, still can't get it to work on Vista, where is the best place to download AveDesk Vista Build?

Probably from the AveDesk 1.4 thread.

Do you have a 32 bit or 64 bit system?
