DExposE Expose Clone

About the wrong screencapture of the ppt window, just refresh DExposE2 it will do good.

and about not so fluid animations, I have already achieved very "WOW" motions BUT which need

a 2 MB directx dll file to be included in the installation which i think some people wont be cool with

i am trying my best only thing is not getting enough time these days :(

#494788

Ok. Did achieve more features (dont know where it will stop ;) )

1> Hiding all open windows in a flash by pressing F11 like in topdesk

2> Minimize & restore windows from exposed mode directly

3> tested on multimonitors.Works perfectly till now :)

will release the version at my site in a week (the settings window may not be a part just now!)

Any suggestions u have , post here!

and yes as suggested by belgrano, the background will be blackish

thanks :)

#494906

Include that directx dll. It was the choppy animations that turned me off the newer versions (I'm still using the first release, :P)

#494952

Released a new version ! ( build- 21.03.2008 )

http://devrexster.googlepages.com/home

Changes are:

1> Animations are very smoother now. U will like the focusing and defocusing bit the most!

2> Removed all reported screenshoting problems. Uses double layered logic ( both screencapture

and printwindow ) to correctly screenshot windows.

3> NEW FEATURE: Press F11 to immediately hide all open windows. Again press F11 to get them

back. :D

4> Minimize and restore windows from within exposed state.

5> Fixed installer problems on Vista.

6> Multimonitor tested on xpsp2.

How to use the new features has been outlined in the readme that comes up after installation!

Any more suggestions anyone ?! Coz I am nearing the final release (with the settings exe and all customizing options) ! ;)

@ojalord

Didnt need the dll . Animations are much much smoother. Try it out ! ;)

Do shift + F9 :P

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

oh yes! i forgot ! the backdrop is blackish now (plan to add a fade effect later)

What is up with the memory usage???? It's using over 50MB of memory running on my Win XP SP2 machine! :(

What is up with the memory usage???? It's using over 50MB of memory running on my Win XP SP2 machine! :(

Really ..!!!

recently quite a few people said to me that it doesnt use more than 20 mb ... ?!

during expossing on my comp it doesnt use more than 25 mb! Perhaps its a problem there will be optimizations ofcourse ! :)

BTW did u notice that u can type in programmes that have the cursor blinking in them in exposed mode itself ! HEHE ! I am typing this while in exposed mode ;) programmed this function into it but never mentioned coz it might not be quite smooth on all comps !!

#496011

no i didn't but that's ****in brilliant!

#496033

HeHe! :P

#496060

Ok, downloaded the newest version, and everything is smooth: except for the dual monitors!

I run dual 24 inches, when I hit the f9 key the windows do shrink (expose) in one monitor, but on the other monitor where the windows were, the monitor goes bonkers and the windows blink on and off. They just keep flashing.

I hope this can be fixed, because this is the only expose program that runs this smoothly on my system. Also, can there be an ability to assign our own hotkeys?

#496086

@jive

Problem is when i run dual monitors on xpsp2 it works perfectly. :(

Can u provide a screenshot of the problem ? or is it that nothing is visible ?!!? Maybe some hooking procedures need to be redone I'll have to check this shit !!

#496165

hmmm. well, what happens on the second monitor, is that the windows that are on that monitor, when exposed just start flashing and blinking. But those same windows shrink down on the other monitor like they are supposed to... so I can see the same windows in both monitors. One monitor as normal, and the other I see the windows blinking and flashing....

Not sure if I can provide adequate screenshots, but if you want temporary remote access, I can provide that...

@jive

Hi!

Can u just give me ur graphics card details ...?!

#496232

when I expose tasks, all minimized windows will be restored to the desktop before exposed.

Could you let all these minimized windows directly be restored into expose screen or hide these steps? just like winexpose or topdesk.

#496344

devrexster,

My graphics card is a msi rx9600pro - td128

here are the exact specs:

http://global.msi.com.tw/index.php?func=pr...&maincat_no=130

Hope this helps.

#496389

@tengsh

I think I cannot :( . Best way would be to turn off ur minimizing and maximizing animations

@jive

just one more question. Is it onboard graphics card ?? It doesnt seem so. I think I am having problems with off-board ATI cards. Ur card uses ATI Raedon I see. I am trying my best. U must see that it is becoming very complicated each day.

BTW, a new version is just around the corner with a settings window to configure ... EVERYTHINGs ;)

#496409

the animation function have already been unchecked. and with early version of DExpose, everything was right.

#496413

deverexter:

What do you mean on board. Do you mean integrated with the motherboard? If this is the case then no, it is not on board. It is uses and AGP slot. The link I provided shows you my very card.

A bug I found for DExpose2 Reloaded (ver 1.4.2008)

OS: Vista Home Premium (no SP1)

When I changed the wallpaper after I loaded DExpose2, the Expose background still used the previous/old wallpaper instead of the new one.

Still a wonderful program!

#496763

@Devrexster, I think I found out why the magnification animations were not smooth on my computer. The previews don't play nice with GDI++ running in the background. They keep refreshing all the time because of that, causing both flickering and stutterings in the animation.

The latest version, with the settings, is still quite cool. Nice work.

Another thing, I have a problem in setting the custom hotspots, but only in the bottom-ledt one. I set it to do nothing, yet it persists in exposing all windows.

#496817

Sorry people didn't have much time to post here

@ojalord

DExposE2 actually has its own "kind-of" font smoothing thing to give good previews. Hotspots selection is too buggy at the present I found it myself. Will fix it ;) Waise aap ka account-name kya hai winmatrix par ?? :D

(Can u clear up the thread about DExposE2 at osx-e.com . It has faltu allegations against me ..... hope u do :) )

@hansonlee

Just refresh it once :D Dont use 1/4/2008 .. "it was hell" . Use the updated 2/4/2008 version of reloaded ;)

@jive

u can try the new vers. I dont think it will solve ur problem, but still has some optimizations and ofcourse the settings-thing, so u can play around to see if it by chance works :P I am working towards it dont worry . ;) only thing is I am having so less time these days :( I think i will have to include the directx dll I talked about a few posts back ;)

As a sidenote, the new vers is multilanguage. However noticable thing is it has both "german" and "deustch" languags. Plz dont think I am playing pranks on german :P Sometimes I do make a fool of myself ;)

I added it to GDI's exclusion list. The animation still feels slow and laggy, though the flickering has gone now.

I am not on winmatrix, lol.

As for the comments on osx-e, they are not in a thread but are comments on the post on the fromtpage. I'm afraid those can't be deleted by me. Anyway, I did post the Virustotal link there, so people who have doubts may check it out for themselves. :D

Offtopic, hindi is my third language, not my first or second one. lol :D

#496830

@ojalord

It is quite fast on my comp however. I have hogs like windowblinds and windowfx running .

Thing is u can try out the speed settings ......

offtopic , u do understand hindi dont u ;) ???

#496831

Disabling live previews made it very smooth. But then, live previews was one of the reasons I'd persisted with this app, lol. Anyway, I guess it all comes down to my crap graphics card...:(

Yes, I do. Quite fluently too. It's not being my first language hasn't hampered that, esp. as I live in Delhi. ;)

#496839

I just wanted to say thank you and it's a really nice replacement for my windows alt tab functions in XP. Seems to work pretty good for me. My appreciation for your work. So far it's worked great on my rig which is no burner by any means but no sloucher either.

#497267

@citybuilder

U talk like ..... a citybuilder :P . Thanks! I hope u have the latest 04.04.08 version ;)
