Here's one potential tool...

WinPDF

Not sure what freeware tools are out there but I know this one works well.

Search for PDFCreator or CutePDF Writer.

Basically they print the document to a pdf using Ghostscript.

I thought OpenOffice had PDF capabilities built in?

so you have an OpenOffice document but not OpenOffice installed?

If you have OO installed, use the built in PDF print capability.

If you do not have it installed, the above suggestions by japp are good except you might not be able to download them if you can't the other.

Try a web hosted service. something like: http://www.pdfescape.com/

may not be what you are looking for, but maybe google docs or something else is around.

good luck.

As SirSmiley said, PDFCreator, or the built in pdf printing in OO.

If you're using MS Office, http://www.microsoft.com/downloads/details...59-A2E79ED87041

if you have vista and cannot install them then you may use trial from word to pdf converter as it uses other system, however trials usually watermark your docs so if it's for home use it's good enough. As suggested firecracker6, i think an online service is very good but only if your documents are not very important (i.e. confidential) as they may record your doc
