Systray Idea

This, somehow, really bashed my head. Why have I never thought of such idea.

Okay, my 9 year old nephew asked me why they didn't make the systray this way.

This idea is really what my nephew and I need and I guarantee that more people would want it.

Check out the mock i made. Keep your heads to the top right of the screenie.

It's just something like that and I've an idea that would make options to it.

Shout back at me if there's anyone that thinks this is a good idea.

objectbar, at least ver 1.65, has that facility...options for vertical or horizontal menu, text only, icons only, or text and icons. you can also replace your systray icons...

edit: oops, didn't see the comments downscreen! 'those without objectbar'. well you said to look at upper right of screenie LOL!

#491552

You can do that with PS Tray factory.

LOL it's okay :P

I'm already using PS Tray Factory. I'm just wondering if there's anyone out there that would make it as a drop-down menu. :

There's quite a few freeware and shareware tools out there to do this.

#491562

Likeee? I've made thousands of search off Google. It just won't show :(

#491566

I, too, would like examples of said freeware/shareware tools.

#491583

TrueLaunchbar maybe?

#491586

That MIGHT, strictly, do the trick.

Nah, it sucks.

How freakin' hard is it for somebody to actually post the price of their app on their site? That is one of my biggest irritations. SystrayX is not worth $30 IMO.

Most of the one's I have installed or archived are menu's only. Nothing that wrangles the system tray into a menu. I'm checking out my AutoIt and AutoHotkey scripts

#491617

Looking forward to anyone that wants to make this happen :D

SystrayX does everything the OP wants....Of course it isn't worth $30. But, who said a thing about buying it? You've just got to know where to look. :P;)

Yeah, you're right it does.

I don't mind paying for things but, like to know without having to download or go to a checkout.

Back on topic, maybe you can find something in here:

LoL your desktop screenshot rembers me the PsychOS Proyect

Well, you can use RK Luncher for a only for System Tray icons ;) and Rocket Dock for normal programs ^^

Byes & Good Luck ñ_ñ

Oooh. Sweet desk. Hm, the RocketDock or OD systray is really annoying, That's why i don't use them. I got a tweak that can get rid of my systray, actually. But, I have some shortcuts that can't be run unless I double-click them on the systray, which, docks usually is 'bugged' out. Sigh :(

#491678

So, did you try SystrayX, does it serve your purpose?

#491685

I did, it doesn't and I hate trials :P

#491699

I give up. Thanks anyways.

#492119

If you want systray buttons to have the background blue when clicked like os x has, and no objectbar or anything else used then try my leopard msstyle,

http://www.aqua-soft.org/board/showthread.php?t=47586

see the preview image for example, it's not so much help but at least you can make the systray buttons skinnable

#492122

Thanks for the vs. But not exactly what I'm looking for.

Maybe anyone knows how to make a drop-down menu application?

And the app can be placed somewhere at the screen. Like 3RVX where you can customize the sound box. Something like that.
