[help] Set Maximum Window Size

hi there board, i recently downloaded windowfx from stardock, mainly because of lord-goku's shadow :D however i do have a problem, i would like to set a maximum window size, when i click the green button, i do not want the window to take up the entire screen leaving just the objectbar at the top, i wanna be able to see my dock and have a considerable amount of space for my objectbar as well. i tried to open up windowfx and set the max window size, but it had no effect whatsoever, i was just wondering if anyone else out there knew how to do this, or if there is another program i can download to do it!! thanks :canadian:

FreeShade might help you, not sure though.

When I tested WinFX I think it did the job you mention. I don't have it installed, so I can't help you out with that, sorry.

Have fun,

here's another add-on for objectdock. creates a margin so you don't maximize over objectdock: desktop size reducer

@jumpers: haven't tried it, so i don't really know, but someone i recommended it to found it useful. hope you like it too.

hehe thanks dreamz, but im a yz'dock user :(

i tried it, but doesn't work with yz. I think the only app can help me is WFX and i dont know why doesn't work.

I'll still searching.

hehe, i'm a y'z dock user too.

i just thought that since this was in the stardock section, it'd be a good place to put the link.

i'm surprised hawkeye shellinit didn't work for you, though.

I'm using windowfx to set maximized window without problem...

Maybe u should try this...after u apply the changes in windowfx just restore and maximize again ur window....it works for me

desktop size reducer use too much memory even upto 13~15MB. WFX use 6MB.

But WFX don't work on my windowsxpsp1.

the hoverdesk(www.hoverdesk.net) also has the same function, it's use very less memory, maybe 1~3MB. but each time you logout, when you login, the max size limition will not work, you have to reload hoverdesk.

why WFX not work? god said, i don't know, you may ask my dad.

That's total bullsh##. I used that prog for awhile, and all you must do is to put a margin on the bottom. It's really easy to do, because the example scripts have ready versions of this. And yes, it works with Y'z dock. edit. oops sorry Jumpers, the Y'zdock prob was with some other prog.
