Thin is in, isn't it? This past week, the MacBook Air was delivered to a few lucky customers. AppleInsider is here first with the unboxing photos (all photos by AppleInsider) (gratuitous size comparisons follow):

OK... that's enough of the unboxing. Now, onto the reviews.
Ars Technica is my favourite review place. I have to be honest here, because they do a really thorough job. And I mean it: the Air review is 7 pages long. Here is their conclusion (SPOILER ALERT):
The Good
- Form factor is indisputably thin and light. Photos don't do it justice
- Sturdy despite its looks
- Works great as a full-size portable Internet device
The Bad
- Migration Assistant is incredibly annoying to use without FireWire
- Most of your USB devices won't fit into the tiny port door—stock up on your extension cables
- Performance isn't exactly the Air's strong point compared to other Macs
The Ugly
- 4200rpm drive causes major machine slowdowns when there's lots of disk activity
- Battery life is disappointing—only half of advertised life on lowest screen brightness
This review was conducted on the base unit. The SSD version will be tested tomorrow, and the results posted that night. I'll post them up when they're available. For now, you can read the full review here
