hey laugh at me! im downloadin server 2003 as we speak, half way done. :sone:
sure you can use both, but why? you only need one to change the appearance of windows, and having both seems like overkill.
but why use style xp when you can get the uxtheme.dll patch? free and simple, so you'll save yourself money and resources.
sone, why d/l ing server 2003? be carful what you do...
Thanks alot guys. I knew that I can just use one of them to change skins, but didn't know whether or not there is a crash if both of them are installed since they are all related with systme files. Thank you again! :woot:
Well, there are two aspects to this question.
First: yes, you can install both programs besides each other, but with only one of them being active at the same time. If you choose WB, I recommend disabling the theming service of XP, speeds up things.
Second: You can use an older version of WB (I recommend v2.2) together with StyleXP (or a hacked uxtheme.dll) to achieve maximum skinning effects. This slows down your computer a bit, though, and is therefor only recommended with an AMD > 2k+ and an appropiate decent graphic-card. If the hardware is fast enough, it looks extremely slick.
Windowblinds has the advantage that you can add some nice stuff to your windows, like the WBAmp-plugin.
Have fun,
