HP 530 Problem

hey guys my friend bought a new laptop. Its an HP NX 530 which doesnt have any OS built onto it. now i purchased the XP Pro cd. but when i try to install the OS i cant. it says that the harddisk drive is not connected.

So what i figured out is there should be a driver for the hard disk installed before. But the driver wasnt der. Can you guys please upload that driver here. Note: the driver should work for DOS. because no OS is installed onto it except the DOS.

Waiting for your earliest reply.

You shouldn't need a DOS driver, some hard drives include a floppy disk with the driver, which you have to insert (the floppy) when windows installation ask for it.

Anyway it would be cool if you post the solution, I don't own an HP 530 but would help anyone with the same problem.

The thing is .. Nothing came with the laptop. Except the User Guides which were printed. Nothing was in electric form. So i had nothing which could help me. Anyways, what I figured out by reading the manual was that before trying to install windows goto the boot setup and "Disable" the "SATA Native Mode." Do that and you can install windows onto the hard drive.

But remember when you are done goto HP.com and then download the SATA driver and after installing it just enable the SATA native mode for better performance of the HD.

The second method is Installing the OS onto a USB Key, and then booting the computer. After that just install SATA Driver and then Install OS onto the Notebook HD.
