When a window is restored after being minimized, the window first appears as just the titlebar about 2 inches wide. It then expands to the full width of the window and then the full window appears. How do i turn that off?

not sure if this is what you're talking about, but, here goes:
system properties > advanced > performance settings
uncheck "animate windows when minimizing and maximizing."
i hope that's what you're looking for.

That's not it. That was already shut off. Doesn't anyone else see this same thing?
I doubt you can turn that off, though a registry tweak may allow you to change the size of that 2" titlebar you're seeing.
You see, windows since 3.1 has always minimized to that state and in win95 started to have that view hidden, but I guess not good enough since you're still seeing it.
hmm, never seen this before. my windows just open up to the full size instantly.
