Too confused.

Ok I basically know nothing. My First problem.. I downloaded AveDesk and extracted everything fine, but then I tried installing it a second time, and then it started giving me error code 0x80004005, for a lot of the files.. so the first time around i let it skip all the error codes, and the installer itself was "skipped" i guess. Now i've been having some other problems with my computer such as msn not connecting, miranda not connecting, etc...so i am going to reformat some time after my exams in the upcoming 2 weeks.

So getting to my main point: I always feel like all the bad things seem to happen to MY computer, and after attempting to install windowblinds on my previous computer, which completely crashed in the middle of the install, i am scared something of this sort will happen to this one. What should I do step by step to get everything working right? Oh, and I am also on windows vista home premium or w/e if that makes a difference.

I have no idea if this feature is available in Windows Vista (it's available at least on XP), but there is a useful utility just clicking Startup, Programs, Accesories, System tools, Restore system (or something like that, my Windows is in spanish).

There you can create a restore point.

Then just install software and let your computer kill itself if it wants to, in such case just load 'Restore system' again and this time choose the restore point you created before installing the problematic app.

I do this normally before installing/running apps from dubious sources.

Have you tried updating AveDesk with the Vista release if it's not already done ?
