Hi, how can I put more folders in the Places bar on the Open/Save window ?I want to look like in Finder so I can access more folders faster from there.

You can use Stardock's Enhanced file dialog, it's part of ObjectDesktop. It's not free but that's what I use and it's excellent: drag to add folders and remembers folders for each application!

Just to complete the use Power Toys / use Tweak UI posts saga:

In left pane choose Common Dialogs, then Places Bar, then choose 'Custom places bar' and follow instructions in the Description frame.

If you use a folder, you'll see the folder icon appears in the places bar. To change the icon, just browse to the folder you choosed, right click it, choose Properties, then choose the last tab and then Change icon. It will change the icon you see while browsing, but will also change icon in places bar (don't know any other way to do it).

Thanx, then I'll try Tweak UI, I can do the rest from there...

btw, I have to finish that leopard msstyle, I will release it soon ;)

The closest I can get you in freeware is CFDButton which doesn't help on the places bar but, adds a button to the dialog window.

I just remembered another app which I used for a long time: My Favorites.

It adds a favorite-like menu to the "save in" dialog i.e. when you click on the "save in" space you can add favorites. The only drawback is that it comes only in german, and development stoppes in 2004. But it does work perfectly in XP. And if anyone is interested I can submit a translation.
