iPod Nano 3g or iPod 5.5g

I want to buy a new iPod and the choices in my price range are a iPod nano 3g 8gb and iPod 5.5g 30gb (they are almost equal priced). The nano is small and cutesy and plays videos while the 5.5g does all that (well, its not small) AND gives me 30 gb. I dont have that much music but the 30gb can give me space to put all those movies which are flooding my laptop hard disk (i've been thnking of buying an external HD but that would have decreased my iPod budget). The only doubts i have about the 5.5g is whether it is future proof, i mean can i put any new games that come on itunes, can i rent movies? will all the new accessories work etc. Please advice me on this matter.

please dont asl me to get a 80gb classic cos i dont have that money:p

Get the 5.5G if you're looking to watch movies because it can hold a lot more. It has tons of accessories for it and newer accessories should also be compatible with it. However, if listening to music is what you want then you should go with the Nano, because it has about just the right amount of storage for the average person

i still think the 5.5g is better than the classic (and i own a classic, used to own a 5.0g)...

yes thats right.

1- the alarm function doesnt work on the classic properly.

2- the interface is overloaded and feels clunky at times... occasionally at the cost of smooth music playback.

Levi, have you updated to the latest firmware 1.1?

I tried for about a week to replicate your alarm function symptoms, but was unable to replicate them.

I have noticed once you past about 100 albums it gets a little slow in places. It hasn't affected playback yet.
