iPod from windows...To connect with Mac how to?

Basically, the situation is this.....

So recently purchased MacBook Pro laptop, and I have an iPod Touch which I was using with my Windows Vista laptop. In order for me to get my iTouch to actually connect with MacBook, do I have to format the ipod and reset everything back to factory defaults?? Because as of now, the MacBook only charges the iPod when it's connected.

Also, is there anyway I can turn off this damn notification that continuosuly pops-up on my MacBook, which is always telling me that im still connected to the web? And whether I wanna stay connected or disconnnect?

Thanks.

I'll stick to basics..... you can connect your iPod (formatted for Windows) to any mac, without having to re-formatting or reseting anything. You'll require to re-format only if you are planning to update iPod's software from mac iTunes. For regular syncing and stuff, NO.. no format is required.

I'm using my windows iPod (color screen, 4G) with my iBook since past 2 years without any hitch.

for what I know is how iGO says, i don't own an iPod so I can be wrong, by the way for your second problem just check your network preferences, go on advanced "PPP" tab, and deselect, "ask every 5 minutes...and so on"

After reading what I originally wrote......it even has me going...WTF?? lol, I must have been really tired.

Basically, I wanna be able to sync my iPod Touch....which has always been synced to windows iTunes, to Mac iTunes without having to format my iPod.

Right now iTunes on my Mac won't recognize my iPod at all and won't transfer any songs to it.
