How to remove this ugly Dell logo?
Huh? "its own Windows Vista Ultimate sux" Not sure what you mean by that.
Are you referring to the pre-loaded crap they install on it or the fact that you bought an outdated P4 systems with only 1GB of ram?
As for the logo, XP pulled it from a file called OEMLOGO.BMP and oeminfo.ini in the System32 directory.
Vista gets the info from somewhere else, I have yet to be able to determine it.
Try searching the registry.
My old Gateway doesn't show any of that info. I installed Vista on that one myself though, so it's not an OEM install.

with winbubble you can edit this OEM thing
I think I have a similar problem
I want to remove this whole ugly aero window interface thing, i think its called vista...

thanks to all of u.. but if i use WinBubble, the Welcome Center and Media Center will have the dell logo.
Just search around in the System32 (I think that's it) folder, find it, and delete it, or edit it to be something you like more. ![]()
Also search for stuff such as oemlogo, oemdata, with txt, ini, or bmp extensions or other extensions alike.
DON'T delete any oemxxx.inf files, those are drivers not logos.
I bought a Dell XPS computer, its own Windows Vista Ultimate sux.. Have the Dell ugly logo at the Welcome Center, Windows Media Center and System Properties.
change it with a sony vaio...
just kidding... i don't think dell let this possibilitychange it with a sony vaio...
