On new years some guys over at touchmods.com are releasing an application to allow people to use there ipod touch's to make phone calls through VoIP.

But something you can order from them. They made a custom mic especially for the iPod Touch. Apparently it works quite well.

Since you always need wifi for this to work and you can't recieve incoming calls for the moment, I think they are pretty safe
