How to shrink jeans??

I have about 5 pairs of jeans I bought about a month ago and they were nice and fitted, a little tight around the waist but they were perfect. Now the pant legs are super loose and very baggy. Does any one know how to shrink jeans?

I read up on that you turn them inside out, wash on hot and dry them on hot. But some people also said there will some difference, but almost none. Pleaseeeeee help me out, I feel ghetto with these jeans. Thanks,

-Matt.

Like davidsword said, this isn't the best place to talk about shrinking jeans..

#484424

look at it from the other way, just put some extra weight on your legs...

what size are they compared to what size you wear? if there's a big difference you should either buy new jeans or take them to a tailor :|

if you throw them in the dryer the inseam should shrink, but that's only a one time thing (and not even that noticeable, maybe 2cm if you're lucky). good luck shrinking anything other than the inseam though, the rest will stretch back out by the end of the day

this is GD, let the guy talk about jeans for goodness sake.

Alright smart ass, read what's under General Discussion. Oh, if you didn't notice, look here:

Alright alright chill out people :slant:

Wash in hot water. Unless you have a hot wash/ hot rinse temperature setting, when the hot wash cycle is coming to an end, you'll need to switch to a setting with a hot rinse. You're also going to dry them on hot -- make sure they're bone dry when you remove them from the dryer, the goal is to "overdry" them a little.

If they're big through the waist, butt & hips but the right length, dampen just the legs with a spray bottle of cold water several times during the dry cycles to keep them damp so they won't shrink, too... and when you remove from the dryer, hang by the bottom of the pant legs so the weight of the jeans stretches the leg length slightly to undo any length shrinkage caused from the hot water and heat drying.

Soak in cold water and put them into the dryer. (Atleast thats what I've been told)

Again, this is GD davidsword.

The people in my neighborhood who don't like baggy pants where girl jeans. :slant:

I believe the other suggestions by Phantom and Moopstick may work. Give it a try :)

I personally like baggy pants.

whoa.. I was merely pointing out instead of asking people on a forum about clothing, google is a much better and faster option.

And thank you markoz for repeating what was already said.

Well I like them too, but I hate the "ultra slim jeans", don't ask why ...

Wear them in a bath!!!! That's the best way!

You can practice trial and error ;)

First put them in very very hot water, for maybe about three hours.

If that doesn't work, put the jeans inside a (old) pot full with water, then put it on fire (the pot, not the jeans :)) until the water boils... eerrr... esteeem... ok, maybe even leave the water boiling for ten minutes? :)

God, I better go ask my mom, she did a course of cut and confecci (corte y confección, no sé cómo se dice en inglés).
