Aqua-Soft ForumsDoes anybody know how I get rid of the galaxy wallpaper which appears behind my login box?
I have disabled the wallpaper in system preferences, but it still prevails during login.

you go to system>libray>coreservices> and then replace defaultwallpaper.jpg or something like that...

My initial thought was just to get rid of it but now I'm suddenly attracted to the idea of making a custom something which is made to fit with the login box in the center of the screen. Somebody leaning against it or holding it up or similar. I'll think of something.

Oh... one more thing... does the replacement image have to be in the same (jpg) format? Can it be deleted altogether? What I have decided I want is the same plain graphite color png that I have on my desktop. That is already there, so deleting the wallpaper should do the same good as adding a second layer of graphite color on top of the old one.
I could just see what happens of course, but I am a newbie after all and a little worried about system crashes at login.
Well it wouldn't crash. You do have to make it in 2560x1280 i believe... you can always scale your image to that size in Automator. I do believe it has to be .jpg too.
I think it has to be jpeg, named "DefaultDesktop.jpeg".
Not sure the size matters, but it's 2560x1600.
Ok thanks. Not the answer I was hoping for but still. 
Seems odd to cover an already existing background color with a big wallpaper of that same color as a means to not have a visible wallpaper at all, but I guess they have made the system that way. Odd though that one has to have a wallpaper during login at all cost.
