.avi files in Windows Media Player 10

When I tried to play .avi file on windows media player 10, i could not see any videos but at the bottom it shows codec acquired ..

But when i tried to play the same thing in divx player it shows the video too..

Help me..

I'm was having the same problem with WMP11, I think you need to download the divx codec: Click Here or do you already have that?

Get a codec pack (google k-lite), you'll not have to bother about individual codecs after that. Or get VLC player.

You'll need DivX or a codec pack in order to play .avi files. Or what Ojalord said "get VLC Player".

Or FFDShow (a codec pack I like because it runs fine in older machines).
