It has been long time since my last post because I am not able to access the net so often during the summer but I have been lurking from time to time and I am quite amazed with all the stuff that is coming out. Congrats.
Well, I wanted you to ask, why an iPod costs 100 euros/dolars less in the States than in Europe? I am planning to buy a 15 Gb sized one, but I got really confused when I read this.

If its a scratch, I dont believe you can get rid of it.
There's that stuff that can be used to seal up the cracks in car paint jobs. I don't see why you couldn't use a drop on an ipod. Considering your ipod isn't something you would want to mess up, I would suggest testing it on a piece of plastic, like a free a0l cd.
Alternately, you could try to buff it out with a pad, and I'm sure this could work. I don't know how apple puts their ipods' screens in, since I keep my mp3s in a pda, but you might want to mask off the edges too.. I don't know what a buff pad would do to the rest of the case.

hey menk, you might want to check out ipod modding sites... i remember seeing on one that you can change the lcd screen cover, only prob. is that means opening the ipod up... might help when the scratches get too bad.
sorry, i can't remember any sites.. just do a search and i'm sure you'll find'em.
It's not just iPods that cost less - everything is cheaper in the states 
Basically if something costs $100 it will cost £100 in the UK.
It's annoying - there should be a worldwide standard pricing conglomerate type thing, so items cost the same (before local tax) the world over.

The reason? Tax.
Value Added Tax runs to 17.5% in the UK, 19.6% in France, and similar amounts I imagine in the rest of Europe. Remove your country's VAT total from the overall price, and there will be very little price discrepancy - I priced a 12" Powerbook from where I study in France compared to the US price - after the €/$ conversion, the French one sans TVA was actually marginally cheaper than the US one. Since I have to pay tax though, this was of little consolation to me.
Don't forget that the US total does not include sales tax, which while lower than the European counterpart, I think goes up to around 10% in certain States.
