<preview> Namp Old Itunes Skin
Looks good! I think it'll be cool to have a plethora of nAMP skins floating about. That will legitimize my claim that nAMP is different from 'that other media player'. I'm working on a very simple skin building utility that will really make the skin building process faster that it is right now (poor duckie has had to deal with my 'brute force' skin maker, which is more of a compiler than an editor. >.<). As soon as its done, I'll post it here.
For the record, I'm mousing over the 'create new' button.
Progress! While I'm not the best interface builder, you have to give me props for trying.
For the record, I'm mousing over the 'for build' text box. While Duckie by now has intimate familiarity with how the skin files work, I'm sure most new skinners will pull a
when they see all the (often poorly named) variables you can tinker with.
Aha!! so that's why Mithandrel hinted at taking a couple of days off about something we're gonna like. ![]()
So Mith, are you gonna make the buttons/layout inter-changeable (meaning you can add or remove stuff and move them around so it won't look anything at all like a certain player)?
BTW, Nice skin Chip.
GameBoyz - while you won't be able to remove buttons, you will be able to move them around all over the place. The only elements you won't be able to move in the first version are the sources menu, the song list, the search bar, the volume bar, and the top window. And I'm working on getting those four movable as well.
Look for the first release of nSkin for nAMP either tomorrow or the day after.
Phew. one more update before I go to bed.
Notes: When you click on the 'display' button, the selected bitmap pops up in a 'preview' almost-borderless style. Right-clicking on the image makes it go away.
One of my goals for nSkin is to make it fairly painless to use, through the use of descriptive 'helper' captions everywhere. You'll never need to worry what some arcane bitmap does, because the information will be all right there at your fingertips.
If you already have the resources all ready, you should be able to make a skin in an hour.
Work continues, but it's tedious. Look for a first release canidate tomorrow.
Soon! Just a few more hours, tops.
Take your time man. We'll be waiting. ![]()
@Mithrandel: Will we be able to modify the header of nAMP?
That is a sweet skin chip.
->Release it. ![]()
Cheers
Nobski, what's the header? If you mean the text on top of the main window ('nAMP'), the answer is, for the moment, no.
I have every intention of letting people modify the header by the final release of nAMP, but until then, you'll have to be satisfied with the default name. When I get a mental image of nAMP with a suspiciously shiny skin, and a title prefixed by an 'i' and suffixed by a 'Tunes', I get chills. ![]()
