Now if he was asking about making Longhorn look like OS X then I could see the point.
I have it and I can tell you one thing about it. Its blue, very blue, too blue. This "Plex" skin for Longhorn is just a temporary thing anyway. Just like Watercolor was for Whistler. I hope to god that the real interface "Avalon" looks better than "Plex" does.
Seeing how Microsoft has a great track record for improving their OS interface themes, I don't doubt that Avalon will look much snazzier than Plex. After all, Luna was a vast improvement over Watercolor, doncha think? 
I now present to you the complete transcript of the first two minutes of Mithrandel using Windows XP with Luna:
*windows boot up sound*
Err... wow... it's green. And blue. And round. And ugly. Meh, maybe it'll grow on me. Okay, let's open the start menu...
*five second pause*
The hell is this? Why is My Computer HERE? It belongs on my desktop, dammit. Sweet Jesus, my desktop's naked, isn't it? ARGH!
*twenty seconds later, My Computer and the Recycle bin are where they're supposed to be*
Okay, let's open My computer and get rid of the install files...
*a long pause*
WHAT IN GODS NAME IS THIS? Why is the taskbar so huge?! Why are my min/max/close widgets so contoured?... and WHO THE HELL ORGANIZED MY COMPUTER? Show in groups - give me a break, does that help me at all?
*cursing as the default view is set to 'icons', like its supposed to be, and the control panel is unhidden. As Mithrandel uses the menu bar, he slowly realizes that something is very, very wrong.*
AIE! What the hell are my menu windows fading and sliding and rolling? Why can't they just appear, like they're supposed to! Dammit, windows, why are you WASTING MY TIME?!
*Mithrandel shows off his sailor's mouth as he tears through the control panel, trying to figure out how to turn off all the fancy shmancy new effects*
BAH! I GIVE UP!
*Within thirty seconds, XP resembles 98. In another 30 seconds, the new start bar is MIA. Mithrandel glows with happiness - or is that the thousands of hours that he has spent in front of the moniter over the past ten years...?*
