umm... well, excuse me if I'm wrong, (I'm not American or from an English-speaking country) but shouldn't it supposed to be Happy new Year??

From TV shows to online, I've seen it been said both ways.
Maybe he said "Happy new years" as to mention not only 2008, but also 2009, 2010 and any new year.

Three problems:
1. I do not know how to make anything glossy.
2. I do not know how to modify the skin
3. I do not like glossy effects.

Open in photoshop, make new layer, select half of something for example, select the gradient tool (white to transparent) and apply into the selection area (then play with layer opacity if u want). thats the simplest way but like Markoz said, he's not gonna do it, cause he doesnt know how and doesnt like it
