Firebird Mac Theme

Kevin Gerich has given permission to port his (Pinstripe) Firebird MAC theme over to windows. There are two colors: blue and graphite. He suggests that I wait until Firebird .7 is out (will be better graphics) but here's what I have so far - anyway I will update with better graphics when they become available. Sorry not available yet as I am still working on it.

The plan is to use the Pinstripe theme as Firebird's default on Mac. Qute will be the

theme for Windows and Linux. This frees up Arvid to focus on Win32 and Linux, and lets

us get a Mac theme guy on board (Kevin Gerich) to help split up the load.

Thanks. Does anyone have these icons in good/great quality?

This theme looks EXCELLENT! I cannot wait for it to be released, as I've been using the same Firebird theme FOREVER now. It will be nice to finally switch. As far as graphics are concerned I'd like to help but I haven't a clue how to obtain them!

#47336

Thanks - :) someone here must be able to get the resources.

Is there any way to extract the images from a .jar file? Of would we need someone running a Mac to do this for us? Comon people, cough up the resources!

These icons are from the Mac build of Firebird (jar file) - but they are of low quality.

I have access to Panther and I've already extracted most of the GUI resources. It would be no problem to extract the Safari resources, if you want them. Just let me know!

Thanks Nephilim, I'm not sure where these resources are located - but if you find them please let me know!

Unless you want a near exact mac port, i'm thinking of not including the pinstripe background (you can get that with your OS theme anyway) - I don't really like the way it looks. I can make similar tabs as well, let your OS make them, or make my updated tabs with hover (as seen with many updated themes such as Crystal and Coffee). Also, I would rather have both fields (url and search) with round corners. Here is a comparision to the original:

Lynch: These themes are looking AWESOME! I haven't been this pumped up about a new FireBird theme since you first started working on Safari! I agree with you on the Pinstripe thing, just get rid of it. That will work much better, cause I generally like a smoother look as well. the Tab's DEFINETLY look the best the way you make them, and the same holds true to your rounded search and address. IMHO, use only the button from pinstripe, cause I think that those buttons are the best part about the theme, and if you were to make the rest yourself I know it would be perfect! Thanks!

Lynch,

I have always been a big fan of your smooth looking rounded URL & Search boxes...Agreed, any good Aqua VS, can produce the pinstripe effects, and tabs with your new hoover images...

With the 'limited' resources that you have to work with, this is looking great...heck right now I'm using susumu's SafariMilk, with your updates, and a Aqua VS, and it looks great...but when this theme is available...

Yes!
