Aqua-Soft ForumsIs there a way (In Windows) that when I connect a USB Flash drive, or insert a CD, it will add a shortcut to the desktop like Mac Os X does? It quite handy at times, so I don't have to click into My Computer all the time.

yeah!!! the disk mounter don't it does work with the USB driver...just for CD

Eh, yeah...it does work with USB drives. You'll first need to go into preferences and tell it to monitor them though... It'll also work on fixed drives (hard drives), network drives, and RAM drives (for those few who have them...I personally have never heard / seen one before).
There is that Samsung 64GB with no moving parts...
Isn't that a Flash hard drive?
Closest thing you're gonna get to your "RAM Drive" there.

To answer the original question...well....I've already done that on another thread. It can be done, I've already got my drives and CD drive to automatically pop up (and disappear when ejected...I've even got the eject logo to pop up on the screen when it happens).

I'm using a neat tool named "activeaid", made by someone from a german IT magazine, the ct.
It's based on AutoHotkey and has a neat functionality that places your drives on the desktop (If you like it sorts them to the right side) and ejects when you delete the symbol.
