PC power button light effect

How can I make my PC powerbutton light pulse while the PC sleeps? like macs?

It's a BIOS thing, most prabaly. However, search

I don't think that's possible......

EDIT: you can't change it from how it already is, for example on most computers the power button flashes when comp is in standby

Going into standby not hibernation pulses the monitor button on my standard Dell box (the power button isn't lit) but, that defeats the whole purpose of sleep mode IMO.

there should be some app for this, it would be fun.

My power button pulses... HP laptop.

There's also a power light on the front that blinks.

well, Presario bahaves like an old world mac with the power button light...

The power button light behaviour is, I think, a feature of the PC's cabinet. I don't think that can be controlled by any software app, you either have the feature or don't have it. My box pulses the light on standby, and here I must agree with SirSmiley that that is most annoying and defeats the whole point of a power-saving mode. I don't know why anybody would want it, I myself would love to get rid of it, ;)

This definitely isn't something that can be handled by software. MAYBE MAYBE a BIOS app, but it's more than likely hardcoded into the hardware.

Yep, a BIOS app was what I was thinking but, still would depend on the system specs.

Something like what I used to turn my system on in the middle of the night, run scans/maintenance and then go back to sleep.

Back in my osx86 days, I learned a little something about PC power management.

If you really want to look into having this feature, look up "ACPI".

hmmm, sounds like danger for Presario, maybe I should not do this...

#478406

No, you really shouldn't.
