Displaying load for dual core CPU

I just upgraded and rebuilt my machine and put in an AMD Athlon 64 X2 Dual Core 4800+. Now, I'm quite new to this whole dual core thing, but each core has a different load right? And I should be able to monitor the load for each core?

I'm using a sysstats config that displays all this stuff, and I've duplicated the text overlay for the CPU load, and added a new PDH meter...but when I go to configure it I'm not sure what I'm supposed to be selecting. Processor is already selected from the performance object, but any further than that and I'm not sure what to select. It was showing the same load for both.

Ideas?

A: use google desktop and find the gadget or Vista's sidebar if applicable.

B: check your performance monitor in task manager.

C: this all assumes that you are using windows.

Take a look into Yahoo Widget Engine. I love the app, and there are plenty of widgets to go around; I wouldn't doubt there are a few that you could use for this.

The HUD is a lot like Dashboard, too .

I appreciate the replies...but I'm not looking to get a new app to do this. I just want to modify the one I'm using.

If you have all the processor's checked then I'm thinking of course each display will be identical? Haven't had much experience with dual core but, I'll have a look at Judge's great help file and see if I can come up with a suggestion or two. Until then you may have to just play around with the settings a bit.

Since she posted under Sysstats (which is for windows) what does google desktop or Vista's sidebar have to do with it?

I went into the config for the meter and the 2 sections below the performance object had nothing selected, so being a ditz I decided to go messing around with it...only to mess it up. >_< Think I've managed to select the right thing, but this dual core stuff sure is confusing.

Not sure why it doesn't show which options are actually selected, have that problem with the in/out bandwidth meter too, I go to configure it and it just shows Processor being selected instead of network interface, rawr (that one is working properly though, not gonna mess with it).
