Running a LiveCD off a HDD

How would I do that?

I don't mean like a distro LiveCD, but a system utility LiveCD (Parted Magic)

(I use GRUB)

Rip it to an ISO then mount in a virtual drive?

Wait, you mean running it off of an HDD, as in booting into it from a general ISO or something? Never gonna work that way.

If I'm wrong in what you want please say so

I mean like I can hit escape when GRUB asks if I want to get into the menu and select it and boot off it.

Basically, I'm trying to make an partition with an image recovery tool that I can boot into and "recover" my setup, like the OEMs do.
