It is hard to believe that a coder can be working for about an year and easy to believe that he works, then rests, then gets lazy 
understandable that coding requires head and time which is difficult with real life problems poping up however, an update can also cheer someone like me (not only update of binaries i mean, some kind of news of progress or something can do a lot you know) I don't know about others but I think vista zucks and I've returned to XP with docks and Desks 
now, alll i can wait is for an update... If someone other then Andreas posts reply, I would be disappointed a bit

Why would you need an update? Honestly, I think the program is perfect as is. It has a couple bugs, but they're easy to work around.

Frankly, you can't control who responds to a post. No matter what you say. So, you'll kind of have to take the responses as they come.
If you wanted a personal response from Andreas then maybe you should have PM'd him.

Yea, i would like to see an update at least as well, but i think i remember Andreas stating that avedesk is no longer in development
if your question is is Avedesk dead as in not being developed then yes... but he said he was willing to release the source code if someone requested it
but if your question is ... does anyone still use Avedesk or contribute? I would say yes but not much... If you don't know I am making a vista sidebar like desklet but I just develop it in my free time... I loved Avedesk, but now that I run Vista, the bugs are just too annoying and I had to abandon it. I'd love to see Andreas update it just enough to work smoothly with Vista, no new features even...but it looks like that's not gonna happen.

Ladies and gentlemen, before asking this question of "dead or alive" I already assumed that there are 75% chances of no updates as number 1, Its one year already... number 2, development was obviously looking "stopped" long time back. Now at this moment, understand that this is exactly why i decided to create this thread where "if" I'm lucky, I may get atleast ONE reply (if not 3 or 4) from the father of this beautiful baby ("AveDesk") which happens to be (as you all know) Mister AndreasV.

Realistically the Beta of Version 2 is more stable (on XP) than other release candidates.

sirsmiley is quite right, it is not my native... (was just tring to make the post look funny didn't mean to disrespect anyone anyhow, ) about that PM thing, I thought if he responds in a positive way, everyone can get the word.
