Alright...first off, I'm running Windows XP SP1.
Now, I've downloaded all necessary files from Iceman's site, and have begun with the Program (.exe) replacements. I get the IE one to work, then the WMP one seems to work...but a second later, the default WMP icon replaces it! The same happens with calc.exe, mobsync.exe, and charmap.exe. I replace files, then, a second later, the originals replace the ones I just put in.
So I try to do the DLL's next, just to see if they'd work...
I get a few of them to succesfully replace the defaults, but on some (wininet.dll and zipfldr.dll are but two), I get a "Confirm Replace" dialog, then a 'Cannot move: A file with the name you specified already exists. Specify a different filename."
I'm guessing this can be avoided by "killing" explorer.exe and trying to replace those .dlls from there, which is something I tried with the .exes (To no avail...Windows still replaces the new ones with the defaults), but haven't tried with the .dlls yet.
Now...My DLLCACHE folder was located in C:\Windows\LastGood, so mabye that had something to do with it? I took both the DllCache and the i386 folders out of their original spots, put them in a different folder, and renamed them both, so I can't see how that could be the problem...Is there mabye some fail-safe system in place that I overlooked?
