You can use the extension linked in this thread, but keep in mind that the structure of Firefox's theme packaging was changed between versions 1.5 and 2.0. It's not a guarantee, even with the extension, that you can get a 1.5 theme working on 2.0.
The only real solution is to use Firefox 1.5. The good news is that Mozilla has kept 1.5 up to date with security patches, but the bad news is that support for 1.5 will be discontinued soon after 3.0 is released.
