[info] Stickies Skins For Aversoft Sticker

Hi all,

I've ported the color schemes for Cassiel's xStickies program over to skins for Aversoft Sticker 4.01.

I had originally done this for personal use, but I got an inquiry about them so I will ask here if anyone else is interested in them.

They do not copy the look and feel of xStickes exactly, just the color schemes and the functionality is within the bounds of what Sticker is currently capable of doing.

To be exact, there is no roll up and no Rich Text Format capabilities, but Sticker is a great sticky note program none the less. One of the nicest features is that it is not resource intensive at all. It uses about 248K of RAM when it's active.

Aversoft Sticker is featured reminder / scheduler for Windows. It can help you keep in mind important information by displaying skinnable sticky notes on your Windows desktop. Sticker allows you to create and display as many notes as you want, set note's alarm, schedule tasks, print notes and lock them from being accidentally deleted. It also provides the notes organization function that lets you hide some notes or place them on top of other windows. The notes are saved automatically and it's easy to use just like the paper post-it notes. Sticker has skinnable interface and many colorful skins. Skins may have different forms, sizes and background images. A transparency feature makes notes half visible to make it easier for you to use your desktop.

So if there is enough interest in the skins, I will release them for public use.

I love the skins - I really do. The only problem is that you are making them for Aversort Sticker; an app that is $14.95 yet still is not any better or different than note apps that other coders give you for free! So I request that you make them for a different notes app. Just my 2 cents. I hope you don't take it the wrong way.

What note app has anyone given *me* for free that is any better than Aversoft Sticker?

I've tried lots of different stickie note apps and all of them have disappointed me in some way except Aversoft Sticker.

So if you are aware of something that you feel is *better* and *free* please let me know about it.

As for it being a problem that I created skins for Sticker, it's only a problem for someone that wants them, you in this instance, and is not using Sticker. It's not a problem for me.

As I stated in my post, I create these skins for personal use. Someone asked me about releasing them so I thought I would see it anyone else was interested in them.

I didn't mean *you* personally. I think most people understand what I meant, but since you obviously don't I will explain myself. Of course, the developer is not going to send free sticky note apps directly to you. You, yourself, will have to at least search for them and go to the homepage to download them. I hope you can understand what I mean this time...

Don't get flippant with me. If *you* want don't want the use Aversoft Sticker nor my skins, then don't.

I didn't make them for anyone else but myself anyway.

Would be great if you can post those skins - very classy!

I use Aversof tSticker all the time but the bundled skins are very cheesy
