[help] Ugly Thick Text

when using xero's panther wb skin, i seem to get some ugly bold thick text. This text only occurs in certain places, like the address bar internet explorer, and also filenames in windows, i have given a link to a screenie, can someone please help! as i really love this skin, and would like to fix this problem.

Maybe it might have something to do with installing certain fonts, as i have already asked a question on these forums that i cant actually install .pfb fonts.

I don't use that skin so I'm just guessing, but did the skin come with a font you need to install, or does it mention one in the readme that you have to get from somewhere else?

thats weird, because Xero's skin is perhaps the best WB4 skin.

I'm guessing you don't have 1) The correct font installed, or 2) don't have fon't smoothing turned on..

Taha: i totally agree with u about xero's WB4 skin, it is awesome, i dont normally use WB4 skins, as they tend to be too buggy, and normally stick to visual styles. But seeing this made me wanna try it, and i've seen screenies of other ppl using this skin, and they dont have this font problem, so i really wanna sort it out.

So just to let u know, i have turned on font smoothing, and it is also on cleartype.

Also the skin didnt come with any fonts, however i have been trying to get a hold of lucidamac for sometime now, i cant find it anywhere, tried searching for it on this board, and aquaxp but havent found it. I think this maybe the reason i am getting those wierd thick ugly fonts. If someone could post a link, or send it to me, i would really appreciate it. I got the fonts from jeds site, but they are in .psb format, and i cant install these fonts, is there anywhere i can find it in .ttf format?

I would be really helpful if someone could help me out. Thanks in advance

p.s. i also heard that packs wb4 skin rocks too, any links i find to it are dead, could someone also post me a working link to his skin.

Im not usre if my advice is what you are looking for, BUT, if you right click your desktop, properties. appereance, advanced.

Thjat font is controlled by the icon font setting If you notice the font you speak of is the same as your desktop icon text.

it seems he has already done that.

He doesn't have the required font (LucidaGrande? LucidaMac?). Anyone know where to get those fonts?

I think they're soulless's fonts.

Maybe you can get them from his site. Or from wherever he stores the files.

thanks to everyone that helped, i installed adobe type manager, installed lucidamac and souless's other fonts, but..... still the same problem. Its getting really annoying, oh well back to visualstyles for me, and i really did love this skin.

Anyone know where to get packs wb4skin? Maybe i'll give that a try, or can anyone recommend another good wb4 skin.

well, Wincustomize has a lot of WB4 skins. You might want to check them out.

It's too bad it's not working for you, WB4 has some really great skins out there, also i used Xero's WB4 skin for sometime and never had that problem. Now since you want a VS check out KoL's work, top notch if you ask me. Studio Twenty Eight

edit: i just saw you have a keygen on your desktop, hope that isn't for WB4.
