and what about those skinns?.. where can i get thoose really good ones?
you can use vistaglazz or a uxtheme patcher to patch the files needed to use unsigned shell styles in vista.

Am I the only one that sees the irony in that statement?
I honestly don't understand this anti-Windowblinds (which doesn't touch any system files) attitude and then saying "I don't want to mess up windows...how do I hack it to apply themes?" :
Don't mind me...I just don't get it. *shrug*
lol.. i din think abt that Bebi
.. yea.. LoL.. anyways thanks you guys .. that was helpful..
Consider me a dumb n00b. but please gimme a direct link to some theme. (nice one) atleast one.

i got it... you are not the only one.
I don't understand how to apply a theme or style...If I double click the .msstyles file the Windows Aero shows up in a window, not the style I've choosen...and the .theme doesn't work either :/
If 'Windows Aero' shows up, than apply it.
did you patch the UX theme patcher first?
If you haven't patched UXTHEME.DLL, you will not be able to use third party themes/styles.
If all you're seeing is Windows Aero, your uxtheme.dll file is not patched.
on the other hand, i DO know how to apply themes. and this one just ain't showing up. i have several other themes installed, and yes, they all show up as 'windows aero.' this one just doesn't show.
edit: nvm. renaming the folder to match the msstyle name fixed it. btw, that's been one of my pet peeves for a while: guys releasing stuff that needs to be fudged before it'll work. mismatched msstyle/folder name is a common one. regardless, thx for this.
