go to www.speedtest.net click the server nearest you and it will measure 
Mine is:
2.7mbps down
665kbps up
532 kbps. lol.
networks in Australia are slow, what can i say?... its meant to be only 512kbps, so im not complaining.
We pay $35 AUD a month, for this connection and it includes unlimited downloads (although the speed slows after 15gb worth... theres No excess fees or cut off).
