When I turn on the computer, LILO comes up, and it ask me which os I want to load. I want to remove a entry for windows 98, and set xp to be default. Is the process just modifies /etc/lilo.conf ? what should be added or modified? I saw a default line, saying Linux, should I place there NT so it loads XP?
Configuration Lilo
yes, modify /etc/lilo.conf and after ou are done and BEFORE rebooting type "liloconf" so lilo reads the config file and re-configure itself.
You have to edit more then just the title of it.. so replacing the word linux to NT wont make it boot into NT.. you have to change the partition path in that file as well... just switch around the entire entries of NT and linux in the file and then it'll be NT at the top.
-bolero
ok, it doesnt matter it says "other=blblabla" in the windows entries? I just move the full entry to the top? for what are the other entries there? the linux fb, etc?
