[Feature Requests] nAMP Player
Sounds good to me.
When did the latest version come out? I doubt I downloaded my SDK more than a month ago.
is a visualiser (if only really basic) still a long way off?
I like nAMP very much.
But I live in Cina.
nAMP play list isn't fit for Chinese characters.
Can you fix it ?
Thanks!
Support from Chinese!
Support for winamp dll's, i.e. input, output, visualisations etc....,. Make sure that directsound is customizable, buffers etc... . It's all api, you can do it, you know you can.
EDIT: I still use Winamp over nAMP because winamp handles my 5.1 speakers a bit better, maybe support for this feature would be great.
DirectSound is a plugin that alows you to add effect to your music, e.g. reverb etc
can you make it so that when you click one of the scroll arrows in the playlist window, you can hold it down - so that you dont have to repeatedly click it to scroll down or up?
DirectSound is probably the best sound outputter available for windows, all your games use it, winamp does, and i think windows media player.
Basically it's part of directx and can talk way better with your hardware, not software like i think the normal WINMM.DLL file does. I have a SBLive 5.1 card and I only use winamp coz it pumps out the stereo mp3 through 4 of my 5 speakers. That means I can have one speaker sitting in each corner of my room, it's a really nice sound. Anyways, MMJukeBox doesn't do that, it only goes through the front 2. nAMP i'm not sure about, but DirectSound is a very obvious necessity for any music program, it will probably reduce memory usage a bit aswell.
So to answer your question, yeah it sounds better, a lot better, not as tinny and you can add cool effects to it.
one more thing :shy: can you maybe include a crossfader plugin so that one song fades into the next etc?
Wow! what a great player.... i tried everything from QCD to mediplayer to musicmatch to Isongs but none of these programs is as true to the original, light (only 500+kb) and stable....my future requests are:
drag and drop directly onto a playlist (and not the media library)
album art display
numbers at the left indicating the total number of tracks
a mini mode (as it is taking up too much space)
if all these are done, i certainly will delete winamp, musicmatch, and all the rest.... thanx for the grreeeeeeeeaaaaaaaaaaaat program!!!! :surfer dude:

I'll second that.
Also, Can u implement multimedia keyboard keys - eg: Logitech iTouch next/prev/play etc. keys?
First of all, let me say that you have done a wonderful job with this program. I enjoy it very much and am already using it as my primary player. Even in its early state I am suprised at how functional it is. ![]()
Okay.. Most the feature requests I was going to make have already been made but I feel like I must second or third some of these.
- Scrollbar for the "Source" list where all the playlists are. I personally would enjoy this one a lot as I am a freak when it comes to playlists.
- Multimedia keys are a neccesity for me. You dont need to put high priority or anything as its not worth putting effort in until you've finished other more important things.
- Sorting by Artist causes grouping within that sort by Album and therefor track number etc. This one is big when it comes to browsing through stuff I think. It would make up for a lack of the "Browse" function that iTunes has. Which brings me to the next...
- The Browse button brings up a list of menus where you can see a list of Artists, Albums, etc. This function is another big one that makes iTunes great in my opinion.
Then of course there is this one which i'm going to post anyway.
- Winamp plugin support (any kind, general, input, output etc.) Where this would go a long way is that it's API. You no longer have to worry about coding in stuff like ogg vorbis etc if it had input plugin support. I am sure you've already considered all of this though so i'm just making this point for no real reason other than to add my own thoughts. I don't know how hard it would be to program such a thing though, and i'm sure working out associated bugs would be harder than normal. I guess its more of a "this would be cool" type of thing.
Okay, I think i've repeated enough people in what i've said. Thank you for all your work so far! I look forward to seeing more versions! Keep up the great work! ![]()
Hey Mithrandel, I found a way to get streams off the net, e.g. radio using your exisitng bass.dll.
IM me if you want some details.
i guess pple had allready requested this but i hv to repeat:
-track number in columns
-artist/album view in the left bar
-smartplaylists! that`s all i want from a player but none does it like iTunes! (and songs rating
)
great work bye the way (Y)

Actually windows media player 9 does it pretty much exactly like itunes ![]()
This might sound stupid (and it probably is) but I prefer to use my media player more like winamp (open up a file in a directory, one or several at a time, rather than have a massive playlist to choose from), so would it be possible to have the option for an "Open file" button or single play mode? Unfortunately, Winamp doesn't have a slick Itunes like skin (and the new versions insistance that it also play my video files is gettingon my nerves)...so, would it be a lot to ask for?
Also graphite and blue schemes ![]()
Hi, I'm new here. I have one request for this app, and that is the incredibly neat track announcements that appear in the corner of the screen. You know, like on MTV which tells you wich song is playing. My friend had it on his eMac and I got so jellaous. I think it's in iTunes. When you have iTunes minimized, that little neat box pops up whenever a new song starts playing.
Yeah theres a plugin for Trillian that would display the song being played in Winamp. It would be awesome if you could carry that over to nAMP somehow. One problem i noticed, is the title/artist tags for a lot of songs seem off, but for some reason theyre identified correctly in Winamp and etc. A majority of my songs put both the artist and the song title in the "Song" column. I think its because nAmp reads the ID3v2 tags and not ID3v1 tags, whereas most MP3s have their title information in the ID3v1 tags. Im not sure if thats why it does it, but its the most educated guess i can come up with. If there was/is a way to change that, itd make file organization a lot better looking in nAmp.
