Parents + Computers = Ignorance

Is it just me that every time my parents go on the computer and ask for my help, they always act like they knew it all anyways? This to me, is one of the most frustrating experiences i can feel. Some common computarded parents traits are:

"Switch to my site" - Log on to my user.

"Firefox Explorer isn't working." - that's because you're not CLICKING ANYTHING.

They get confused about when to use the left click or right click or control click, "there's no right click button on this mouse, matthew!!!"

This thread is for anyone that still lives with their parents or feels my pain.

I keep telling my mom to double click firefox as fast as you can to open it.

You are a month and 10 days older than me, so i still got them too.

Also, My brothers hog up mom's pc. I

have my own computer, but it crashed and it runs on a worthless live cd.

My parents just recovered the laptop, By the "Help of me".

Bapestar has a very, very good point.

I feel the same way as you guys, for example my dad always ask me why the computer is so slow and I tell him "well, maybe the internet is slow, you have too many applications/windows open or just give time to the computer" and somehow he says that computers are sh*t and that they should be simpler... besides, when there's a problem with it and we call someone to fix it, after it's fixed if it has a little thing different than it was before... Jesuschrist there's gonna be hell to pay!!

Haha, yes I can relate to all you guys.

These days everybody in the house asks me for help... and extended family too! My mother is by far the worst. She always gets very frustrated when it doesn't do what she wanted. Usually there is a good explanation, and some times that explanation is "Mum, it's windows. It does that" =P (This is a good reason to make them get me a mac =P)

At school we have an admin who just can't be outsmarted. Back in year 7 I almost outsmarted him. We had some admin accounts on a few computers, but now it's incredible what he's done. All command prompt commands are blocked, non-aproved EXEs are blocked, and whenever you log off the computer restarts (And when it restarts any changed from the original disk image are removed) Ofcourse, as well as "normal" restrictions.

It makes it really hard to play counterstrike at school =P

Though I don't live my parent currently, when I was they weren't much interested in using computer.. and by god's grace they still aren't. Make my life easier.

Like the title says about ignorance, I say Ignorance is a bliss. :)
