First Vs Help

Im working on my first theme ever, and meanwhile learning my way through StyleBuilder. I am almost done with the start bar so far, but I have one problem. I want to get rid of the text "Start" and the little windows flag that are sitting ontop of the start button image. I know it has something to do with the margin's but I cannot seem to get it right.

I will most likely run into more problems, and when I do I will post them here :D

And hopefully, when I finish the theme it will be posted here too

Thank you in advance for the help!

Ok 2 new questions to be asked

1) How do i make the "Caption Bar(s)" to be thinner, like in most themes today?

2) How do you take off the text on the right side of the start bar's menu where it displays computer, my documents, control panel, start, run, ect? I just want to display icons here

I will probably post a screenshot of the beta theme once I know how to do the things above, thank you!

ok first to get rid of the start text and winflag you need to set one of the content marging to negative. Use these settings

Left: -70

Top: 0

Right: 100

Bottom: 0

I explain how to make the compact start menu here - http://www.designtechnika.com/board/index....?showtopic=5171

and to make the caption bar thinner you need to make the image like this one and in SysMetrics (in Stylbuilder) set the height of the captionbar

I hope this can help you

ok next round of questions!! woo hoo!

1) The width of the start button... how do i change it??, for not if i set it as "True Image" it will center and not touch the edges like I want it to, but if I stretch it, it becomes too big...

2) a lot of my rounded and swooping edges are becoming distorted.. Im pretty sure i set the margins right but they are still gettin stretched...

Thank you all again for helping a ****ie :shy:

1) you need to play with the margings (right/left)

2) can you post a screenshot??
