Alleged Schedule "Leaked" From Sept. 5 Apple Event

This list is rumoured to be the schedule of tomorrow's keynote speech from Apple CEO Steve Jobs. This list should be taken with a salt shaker the size of a house:

Ringtones on iTunes: $0.49

iPhone games

Mobile iTunes store for the iPhone

iPhone Radio with buy-it-now button

3.5" Widescreen iPod, built in Wi-Fi for Mobile Store, CoverFlow included

iPod "deca" with built in Wi-Fi, Video enabled, CoverFlow included, only available in 10GB

iPod nano, price drop

iPod Shuffle discontinued

All iPods mentioned have a new operating system

Beatles on iTunes, McCartney comes out and sings "Hey Jude"

My take?

Ringtones on iTunes for 49¢: I don't think so. Other companies are charging $2 or more for polyphonic ringtones, so why would the record industry let iTunes sell proper quality short versions of tracks for less?

iPhone Games through 3.5" Widescreen iPod: Already been discussed over at various blogs and other Apple rumour sites.

iPod deca: What on earth? 2GB, 4GB and 8GB nanos, and 10GB deca, AND 30GB iPod? That seems a little crowded.

iPod shuffle discontinued: I see these things everywhere, so I don't think Apple would discontinue them quite yet.

Beatles on iTunes: Already been discussed.

These schedules often pop up before any keynote, and they're usually wrong.

$.49 Ringtones - I can see Apple using their reputation to lure $.49 ringtones. They should not be that expensive anyway considering how easy they are to make for free.

Games - Meh. Give me an iPod SDK that I've been asking for since I bought my 2nd Gen iPod, then we can start talking.

iPod Deca - I actually like the sound of it. Only if it's solid state memory.

iTampons - I don't see going anywhere. What's with people wanting to kill Apple's entry level hardware?

iPod deca is stupid, if it really did carry the mentioned specs, it would just be called like...iPod Nano Extreme or something half baked like that.

My throat isn't in the best condition to begin with, but that made me laugh so hard I was coughing like a chain smoker. And I don't smoke.

In my opinion, if Apple went to the music industry and said "look, we're going to make ringtones available for the iPhone for 49¢", the music industry would tell them to get out. They're not expensive to make, at all, but they make everyone money. Except the phone user.

What ! only 10gb for the iPod "deca", that sucks

#471069

That's... why it's called Deca. You know, the metric system... deca... ten...

Maybe Mac OS 10.4.11 and iTunes 8 would be released too.

#471079

Well, firstly, its 10.5, secondly, they said it's not coming out till october, thirdly, iTunes 8 would probably need to be released with the 6G iPod.

iPod Deca...like Levi said, can anyone say BS?

Haha, an iPod commercial is playing as i type this.

Well, firstly...

Secondly, Apple can surprise people. They said that the Intel transition would take a year, and it only took 8 months or something.

Thirdly, they could just release an update to iTunes 7, like they did with the iPhone, rather than introducing 8.

They definately won't stop the shuffle... they aren't losing any money there. But I guess if you stop it then people are forced to spend more. Oh well, anyways @BapeStar thats funny, "I am McLovin" that movie is funny.

Glad to see we have an apple accountant on board. Back it up with facts man thats just your personal opinion from observation...

Any ways I'm pumped for this new hypathedical ipod,

You should've done some research.

On iTunes stuff, Apple might either release iTunes 7.4 or iTunes 8. iTunes was updated when new iPods were released last year and was updated when the iPhone was released. So I don't see why iTunes wouldn't be updated on this iPod event.

Good job with the news post, but to everyone else, please try and keep discussion of the event itself in this thread. ;)
