You know you're a geek when...

You set up an automatic rerouting of your e-mail to your pager.

i got that, and in reverse too! I am a member of my local fire department, and whenever 219 gets a call, I get an email w/ info, and a text message sent to my phone.

If you paid $6000 for your computer and $500 for your car.

lmao, classic!

Someone says, "What are the odds?" and you calculate them.

Your fraternities make Flash websites to promote their party.

You come out of a Star Trek movie and argue about the physics involved.

Instead of saying "They don't go in order," you say, "They aren't linear."

Rearranging your room requires a floor plan, made with Visio or AutoCAD, with revisions.

You know what ";http://" stands for.

You write "goto" as one word.

You don't think of an icy ground as slippery, rather as having a low μ.

Someone says G-Nuke, and no one thinks of rap.

1TB of hard drive space isn't enough anymore.

You know what an exabyte is even though Microsoft Word doesn't even recognize it as a word...and you want that amount of hard drive storage capacity.

Computers with only one monitor just don't cut it anymore.

you know you're a geek when you feel you have to point out that phantom_lord meant "you're," not "your."

(sorry phantom-lord, pet-peeve of mine...)

Yeah, mine too! //Fixed.

*Don't anyone say I'm a geek for pointing that out, <-

When you randomly quote thread content and attempt to string it together with vaguely related web pictures. [that's a sentence fragment, yes i know]

NC and shmengie, that one is for you :)

Ooh, now that I look closely at that, I see I phrased it pretty poorly! I apologize ;).

I've gotta fess up.

I saw a car today with the license plate "RGB-788". I stood there for a moment trying to think of exactly what colour it would be. I got home and checked it. I was right!

Impressive! :P

When you go back in time with Time Machine on your Mac.;)

You know you're a geek when...

...your computer ever had less than 1 megabyte of RAM. (my first had 2k of RAM)

sinclair.jpg

...you owned a hard drive smaller than 10 megabytes - that cost over $2000.

_SEAGAT1.GIF

...you used to get programs in BASIC from computer magazines and enter them by hand.

250px-Apple2_Screensaver.jpg

...you used to save and load your programs from cassette tapes.

basic-applesoft-small.jpg

...you thought the Tandy Model 100 was the coolest laptop you ever saw in your life!

And I fit all these... *sigh* lol

Yeah, good old times. I remember when I first had a sort of kind of keyboard in 1990 which was the computer, the TV was the monitor and I loaded games from cassette tapes, and next year I got a Commodore 64. I enjoyed it a lot :D
