Mac Laptop flickering (reducing screen brightness)

Do you have Automatically reduce the brightness of the display before display sleep on or off. I read it somewhere (a guy who has a MacBook with screen flickering posted somewhere on a different forum) that if that option is unchecked the screen flickering would go away. What are your thoughts on this? Do you have this option on or off. I have the option off.

Flickering screen? Nah, never had that problem. I keep the option "On", however, because it gives me some warning when I'm watching videos on YouTube if my screen is about to sleep.

Will there be any side effects having that option unchecked "off"? Like display will have a shorter life?

Not sure about Display's life... but it does some good on battery life checking that option.

i set it to off, mainly coz i find it annoying when my screen dims...

i use to always just turn the brightness back up so... and these days im usually plugged into the wall so i dont worry.

Yup. Display will have a display of shorter life. I unchecked mine, and a warning message came up telling me this.

Sarcasm??? I was serious you know. I just wondered if that option would make an effect on that.

I have it un-checked; like levi, I find it annoying.

Not sarcasm. That was truth. But I can't get the warning to popup again?

In that case, I would turn that option on if it makes an effect on the display's life.
